Due to the inclement weather school closings, our Curriculum Night has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 14th from 6:00pm - 8:30pm. All rising 9th-12th grade families are encouraged to attend the presentations, electives open house, and department breakout sessions to learn more about course selection options and graduation requirements.

Keeping cell phones off during the school day helps students focus and learn. It also boosts positive social behavior. Review FCPS' cell phone expectations by grade level with your child and help keep our classrooms free of distractions! Congratulations to Mr. Lawrence Cooper on his recognition as the October 2024 FCPS CARES Region 3 Recipient of the Month, presented by the FCPS Department of Human Resources. Mr. Cooper was also recognized as the FCPS CARES Recipient of the Quarter, winning $500 sponsored by Educate Fairfax and Apple Federal Credit Union.

Congratulations to the West Potomac High School teachers and staff for receiving the Continuous Improvement Exemplar Award for 2024-25 from the Virginia Board of Education.

The Hall of Fame honors the legacy of outstanding alumni athletes, coaches, and dedicated contributors who brought pride to our school and community. Eligible nominees include former athletes, coaches, and administrators or volunteers who have made significant impacts on our sports programs.

Parents are invited to our Family Literacy English Classes, held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8pm. Family Literacy English classes are for West Potomac parents and family members to learn about their child's educational journey and school supports available to them.

FCPS partnered with Varsity Tutors to provide students and families with extra resources for learning. Every student can take advantage of Varsity Tutors' services at no cost, including weekly live online classes; on-demand 24/7 chat tutoring; essay editing; and study resources such as recorded content, practice problems, and diagnostic tests.
