After School:  Starting on Monday, March 10^th students after-school need to be with a teacher, sponsor or a coach by 3:20pm, or they will be asked to leave the building and wait for transportation outside under the awning at Door 1 or be outside in the lovely spring weather.  Admin and security will be sweeping the building at the end of the day.  

Working with teachers after school

While the official school day ends at 2:55pm, the learning at West Potomac High School continues!  A few reminders about working after school with teachers: 

• Students staying after school MUST be with a teacher, coach, or sponsor.  Students are not permitted to stay after school without a supervised activity.
• Busses are provided for students staying after school on Mondays and Thursdays.  The busses arrive at 4:45pm and depart at 4:55pm.  Check SIS for your student’s late bus assignment and stop.
• Meals  are provided to students staying after school Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for remediation or enrichment opportunities at no cost.  Students should pick up a pass for the meal from their teacher and pick up from the cafeteria by 3:15pm.   
• All teachers are required to stay after school at least one day to provide remediation and enrichment opportunities for students.  Please reach out to your student’s teacher if you are unsure what day they are staying after.
• Students who have been identified as needing remediation have been invited to sessions after school. 
• This is a list of current organized remediation opportunities available.  There are also opportunities for attendance recovery and behavior interventions that your student may have been invited to.
