Wolverines Celebrate Black History Month

Throughout February, West Potomac High School honored Black History Month with a series of engaging activities celebrating Black culture, history, and achievements.

🔴 Lunchtime Bracelet Making & Tag Map – Students crafted bracelets using beads in Pan-African colors (red, black, green, and yellow) as a symbol of unity and heritage. They also placed stickers on a map to showcase their family’s origins, highlighting the diverse backgrounds of our school community.

🟢 Lunchtime Trivia – Black Student Union (BSU) officers tested students’ knowledge of Black history with interactive trivia. Those who answered correctly received goodie bags, making learning both fun and rewarding.

BSU Rock Painting – To close out the month, BSU students painted the school rock with a vibrant design celebrating Black excellence, leaving a lasting tribute to the month’s significance.

Thank you to everyone who participated in making this month meaningful and memorable!
