Congratulations to Ms. Lainie Abrams and Ms. Jennifer Stoneburg on their recognition as the December 2024 / January 2025 FCPS CARES Region 3 Recipients of the Month, presented by the FCPS Department of Human Resources.

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story below, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.

Below is the write-up submitted by West Potomac HS Principal Jessica Statz.

"Ms. Jennifer Stoneburg and Ms. Lainie Abrams work with our Adaptive PE classes at West Potomac High School. This year, both amazing teachers have enrolled some of our students in the Unified Basketball Tournament, competing with other schools around the area. These athletic teams are comprised of students with and without disabilities competing alongside each other as teammates. This past weekend, they had their first game against another school in FCPS. Their gameplay, interactions, and complete excitement for this program were a pure joy to witness firsthand. These teachers enlist students to help the students with disabilities at practices and games. They are truly building capacity in their students. Ms. Stoneburg and Ms. Abrams's time and dedication to the students is truly heart-warming!"
